"Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice."
20th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)
The Jewish people were the first people to receive the truth about God and His purposes. In Matthew’s gospel Jesus spends most of His time
The woman in today’s gospel is a great example of someone who puts all their faith in the Lord. As soon as Jesus leaves the Jewish territories, and enters pagan territory, this woman is on his case. She is from a pagan area, but she seeks out the Lord.
As a Catholic priest I am becoming more and more concerned about what people are putting their faith in. In effect it is paganism. The woman in the gospel probably without ever realising it rejected her paganism and turned to the Lord Jesus.
